Duties of the Chairman of the Day

     1. At 12:00 Noon, the Chairman of the Day will announce himself as the Chairman of the Day and then call the meeting to order. Lunch will begin to be served at about 12:00 Noon.

    2. He will ask the Secretary to call the Roll. (The number of persons responding to the roll call will be compared to the number of persons paying for lunch, so the roll call is important)

    3.  He will ask if there is any visitors or guests, and ask if they will introduce themselves.

    4.  He will call on our Official Jester for his sharing of wisdom.

    5.  He will then ask the members for any items of general interest to the group or any new business items.

    6.  At 12:50 P.M., he will announce a ten-minute break before introducing the  Speaker Chairman.

    7.  Some of the procedures above can be worked around any lull in the lunch.

    8.  At about 1:00 P.M., the Chairman of the Day will introduce the Speaker Chairman, who will introduce the speaker and be responsible for the remainder of the meeting, except for adjournment. The presentation should last about 20 minutes with about 10 minutes for questions and answers.

    9.  The Chairman of the Day should watch the time during the presentation to be make sure that the it doesn't last too long, since the room must be vacated no later than 2:00 P.M. on order that the restaurant's staff can clean up the room. If it looks like it is going to exceed our limitations, the Chairman of the Day should confer with the Speaker Chairman to see if some of the members would like to meet with the Guest Speaker after adjournment.

    10. The Chairman of the Day should adjourn the meeting at about 1:45 P.M., after thanking the Guest Speaker and Speaker Chairman.
