MEETING

January 21, 2009

Group met at Dominic's on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 12:00 noon. The agenda was full with a discussion by Floyd Alfson on the US Airline plane that landed in the Hudson River. Floyd is a retired Airline pilot.

Jim Felker, from the Stock Group gave an interesting discourse on the state of the market and what to expect in the near future.

Featured  speaker was our own John Mahaffy, retired CFO of the San Mateo Union High School District. The timely talk was full of information on the financial distress of Public Schools. John entertained questions from the group.

Inflation news: Luncheon costs will be $22 effective in February.

The speaker for our February 18, 2009 meeting will be SIR Ed Schutzman. As a retired attorney, and a practicing CPA, Ed will discuss “some things you’ve always wanted to know about taxes and many things you didn’t!”

Tom Keefer closed the meeting at 2:00.
